They're taken from you
Time and time again
By what you've done to the people
You once called friends.
You sit alone,
They cannot know.
Your deepest fears,
They cannot show.
A raindrop falls
To mingle with tears
You scream out loud
But no one hears.
A hunger, a thirst
Your lack of sleep
Your life filled with promises
You failed to keep.
A slice, a cut
Borne from your shame
You pretend to be normal
But you're not the same.
The pain is welcome,
Your mind slips away
As you scratch in the names
Of those who couldn't stay.
The man they knew
Is not quite there.
Don't you see how he cries
And pulls his hair?
One more life saved,
Two more lives gone.
In fright of your weakness
Others try to stay strong.
Their friend no more,
You seem so lost;
The man hot as fire,
The man cold as frost.
What happened to you
Who stood so tall,
Who chose fates for others,
The Lord of them all?
Just one thought makes it
Through your mind's raging sea.
With teary eyes you implore them;
"... Save me."
